What is the conference theme?
The conference theme is “The Scholarship of Teaching & Learning: Advancing Teaching Innovation and Research Excellence in Higher Education.” The theme aims to interrogate the artificial dichotomy between teaching and research.  Abstract Submissions & Presentations

Who can submit an abstract?
Abstract submissions are invited from Submissions are invited from experienced and novice researchers, scholars and practitioners in Higher Education institutions from the continent and beyond.

What length should my abstract be?
Abstract submissions should not exceed 500 words.

What is the maximum number of authors per abstract?
Four.

Can I submit more than one abstract?
Yes.

How do I submit an abstract?
Abstracts must be submitted online. Click here to submit an abstract.

When do abstract submissions close?
28 April 2017.

When can I expect notification of the outcome of my submission?
On or before 19 May 2017.

What equipment will be available for presenters at the conference?
A laptop and a projector screen will be provided in each venue. Presenters may stipulate any additional equipment that is required when submitting an abstract.

What presentation formats are available?
Paper presentations, poster presentations, photographic presentations and workshops (by invitation). Click here for more information.

Will presenters receive a certificate?
Yes, all presenters will receive a certificate.

 Conference Registration

Can I register if I am not presenting?
Yes.

Must authors whose abstracts are accepted required to register?
Yes. Presenting authors whose registrations have not been finalised by the registration deadline, will not have their abstracts published and will not be included on the conference programme.

How do I register?

What methods of payment are available?
Registration fees may be paid via cheque, IDR (UKZN delegates only), through UKZN campus cashiers, EFT (for South African delegates) and Direct Deposit (for both South African and international delegates). We do not accept credit card payments. Click here for more information on payments.

What is the registration fee?
Registration fees are dependent on delegate-type and when registration is submitted. Click here for more information. 

When does registration close?
Early-Bird Registration closes TBC.
Regular & Presenters Registration closes TBC.
Late Registration closes TBC.

What does the registration fee include?
Access to keynote addresses, breakaway venues, meals, teas, cocktails, the gala dinner and other social events.

 Venue

Is there parking available?
Yes. Free off-the-road parking is available from the hotel on a first-come first-served basis. Undercover parking is available at cost to delegates. Payment for parking may be made at the hotel reception.

Is Wi-Fi access provided?
Wi-Fi access is available at the venue. Vouchers may be purchased directly from the hotel reception.
